Enjoy a few days away in one of the lovingly renovated romantic rooms or suites of the nearly 1,000-year-old Schloss Matzen.
As a Hotel Garni, we focus on exceptional accommodation and an enjoyable breakfast. We therefore do not operate our own hotel restaurant or a 24-hour reception. The independently operated Restaurant Gut Matzen, directly connected to the castle, welcomes you during its opening hours.

The castle stands on a small hill near Brixlegg and offers direct access to Matzen Park. Its individually furnished rooms feature generous marble bathrooms with underfloor heating. Flat-screen satellite TV and complimentary Wi-Fi provide modern comfort within walls steeped in history.

To preserve the castle’s unique historic character, we deliberately chose not to install a lift. Rooms and public areas are reached via the historic staircases and arcaded walkways.

Reception & arrival
As a personally managed Hotel Garni, our reception is not staffed around the clock.
Monday & Tuesday8:00 am–4:30 pm
Wednesday–Sunday8:00 am–5:30 pm
Outside reception hours, you can check in easily using our on-site Self Check-In. The information you need will be sent by email and SMS on the day of arrival.
